Fr. Maicaal Lobo
Father Maicaal was born to Edward and Lucy Lobo on June 5, 1966, the oldest of 5 children in Bantwal, India in the diocese of Mangalore. He has 4 Brothers who are all married. He grew up in a remote mountainous area of India.
Father Maicaal speaks 4 languages including English. He was ordained to the priesthood on April 26, 1994. He was assigned a Parish Priest from 1999 through 2000. He then served as Principal at Pre-University School, overseeing grades 11 and 12 from 2000-2005. From 2005-2013 Father Maicaal was Parish Priest and Principal of St. Maria Goretti College of Commerce/Management. From 2013-2015 he was Principal of Lourdes Central School of the Central Board of Secondary Education. From 2015-2016 Father Maicaal was Parish Priest and Principal of St. Joachim School, Kadaba.
Father Maicaal was influenced by the Jesuit priests who conducted a summer retreat/home in his community. Father’s family helped in the retreat/home. Fr. Maicaal came to admire the Jesuits and was inspired by their lives of dedication.
Fr. Maicaal has traveled to the Middle East countries learning much from those travels. His favorite book is the Bible. His favorite Gospel passage is Sermon on the Mount; You are the salt of the earth…; Let the people see your good work and give glory to God…
Father Maicaal’s favorite devotion is the rosary to Mother Mary and prayers to the Infant Jesus. His special saint is St. John Marie Vianney, patron saint of parish priests and Mother Teresa.
Father Maicaal is happy to be here in the United States in our Fort Wayne/South Bend diocese. He had a beautiful picture of America and is now here for the first time. He has been made to feel welcome by all that he has met.
Father Maicaal is enjoying learning new things about life here with all of us. He is happy to serve here in Huntington as Parochial Vicar at SS. Peter and Paul Church
